EABL Trailblazer joins staff for Elite Week.

Red Star Elite Week 2025 is delighted to announce that Coach Jake Chapman will join the Coaching roster for our inaugural camp.

Jake Chapman joins us for his first Red Star tenure for Elite Week and the young coach brings valuable experience following his recent appointment as Head Coach of the Derby Trailblazers EABL Programme, where he is working tirelessly following the departure of longstanding figurehead Matt Shaw. No doubt the off-season will see him go to work in terms of recruitment and he will be looking to push the programme on in the 2025/26 season. Although in the infancy of his career he has a strong reputation and is a great addition to our already high-quality staff.

Director Matt Newby was looking forward to giving a young coach an opportunity to impress this summer:

"Jake came with a number of recommendations from trusted members of the basketball fraternity and I look forward to seeing him contribute to our inaugural Elite Week. Although he is young, he already holds a significant tenure over a pedigree programme and I’m looking forward to not only seeing him deliver on the floor but also develop himself further under the vast array of high-calibre coaches on our staff.”

Ahead of the inaugural Elite Week Camp in 2025, Coach Chapman was excited to head to Leeds:

“I'm really grateful to be coaching at Red Star Elite Week. This will be a great opportunity to work with high-level players and be alongside some high level coaches."

Less than 10 spaces were just added for this year's Elite Week Camp - Prospective athletes should apply now.
