Red Star Elite Week 2025 is delighted to announce that Coach Troy Culley will return to Leeds once more.

This season saw Coach Culley embark on his European Coaching journey and the former Myerscough Coach is relishing his new challenges in Germany, having an instant impact at Tigers Tübingen where he is working with both the Pro A and Regionalliga teams. Coach Culley's ascension through the British Basketball ranks sees him as one of only a few that have stepped into Europe and found success abroad. Troy brings a wealth of experience, having honed his skills at two of the best Academies in the country, namely Canterbury and Myerscough, and the young athletes on our Elite Week camp will benefit from his international experience.

Director Matt Newby was proud of Coach Culley's achievements and his courageous step into European basketball:

"Troy is very much part of the Red Star Basketball family and watching him continue to evolve and develop by being brave enough to push himself up and into the European leagues is testimony to his journey and his commitment to both the sport and his own development. The young people on our new Elite Week Camp will get a great deal of insight from Coach Culley with his multiple GB campaigns, success with Myerscough College and the incredible diligence he shows in keeping pace with modern basketball. We look forward to his presence on camp and the value that he will bring to both the players and Coaches alike."

Ahead of the inaugural Elite Week Camp in 2025, Coach Culley was truly excited to confirm his attendance:

I'm excited to return to camp this summer, a place that has always been a hub for player development and a space where coaches, both experienced and emerging, can grow together. This camp has consistently provided an environment for athletes to maximise their off-season work, and this year will be no exception. Beyond that, it’s always a privilege to give back to Matt Newby, whose mentorship has played a crucial role in my journey. Having first worked one of his camps a decade ago, it’s an honour to continue contributing to the legacy he has built. This year is even more special as I get to be part of the first-ever Elite Camp, a testament to the camp’s continued growth and commitment to developing the next generation of talent."

There are just 20 places remaining on this year's Elite Week Camp - perspective athletes should apply now.
