Red Star Basketball Camp UK are delighted to announce the return of Senior Camp Coaches Milan Manderic & Zeljko Vasiljevic for 2023.
Milan & Zeljko return to Red Star Camp UK for the fourth time and continue as two of Coach Newby's closest and most trusted international Senior Coaches.
Camp Director Matt Newby had endless respect for both coaches and felt privileged that they have committed so early for next year's camp:
“The bounce back year proved an an incredible success and this year the expectation is that our numbers will increase by a third. That will be 200 young people from across the UK and beyond benefiting from a very special teaching-focused basketball environment.
Returning Milan and Zeljko is a privilege and honour. They are high-class clinicians consistently in high demand, and for them to carve out time in the calendar year to deliver as the consultant coaches for our camp means a great deal.
The results for me are two fold; The players' experience is paramount and the quality of delivery, diversity of content, detail within teaching, and standards that are set, are second-to-none. Furthermore there is the impact on the broader basketball community when players and coaches return to their programmes with new broader perspectives on the game, how it is taught, how it is played and how it is thought.
We are genuinely blessed to have this positive relationship with a European giant and thankful for the opportunity to deliver this programme annually."
Following the astounding success of Red Star Camp 2022, Coach Manderic looks forward to joining the young people at camp again: “We return for our 4th year of camp in Leeds and in 2022 post-covid we got a chance to raise the bar and this was achieved. Fundamentally our responsibility is to teach, educate and open the young players minds to another level of application and thinking. The format of camp is perfect for those players who wish to improve technically and tactically."
Alongside Milan, Coach Vasiljevic was proud to be part of camp in 2022 and is excited to return:
“Leeds is one of my favourite stops each year internationally. The players and coaches are always tuned in to learn more, which is perfect for teaching the game. The Serbian basketball school and curriculum is very much about the technical detail and tactic, and always translates well for the UK players. This is the fourth time I am representing Red Star in Leeds and can honestly say it is always rewarding.
