Red Star Basketball Camp 2025 is delighted to announce that Coach Shanice Turner will join the coaching roster for our 2025 camp in Leeds.

Coach Turner has recently lead the England U14 Girls as Head Coach in the Home Nations tournament and hails from the midlands, where she currently plays in WNBL Division 1 alongside being the Assistant Coach for the Worcester Wolves. Having plied her trade within the Basketball England Performance Pathway with tenures at Aspire and the Super-Region, she is very much looked upon as a face of the future in the women's game.
Director Matt Newby was feeling purposeful with this latest addition to a vibrant and exciting female coaching roster:
"One of the important agendas of camp is to develop and nurture young coaching talent. We feel that we have pulled together a strong group of young women who have an appetite to contribute to the domestic game. Shanice has been on our radar for a while and we are excited for her to be with us on camp and the addition of another strong female role-model should not be underestimated."
Ahead of her first summer in Leeds, Coach Turner was excited to be on the floor at Red Star Camp UK:
"I’m really looking forward to being part of the Red Star coaching team at camp this year. It’s always exciting to be surrounded by passionate coaches and dedicated players. I can’t wait to help develop talent on and off the court while continuing to grow as a coach myself."
