Red Star Elite Week 2025 is delighted to announce that Coach Dimitris Zacharias will fly in from Greece for the first ever Elite Week.
Welcoming back Coach Zacharias to Red Star was an easy decision and when he confirmed his availability, we jumped at the opportunity. He has had significant experience in both the Women's and Men's game and brings a passionate and technically detailed method of delivery which our campers loved when he was last in Leeds in 2023. Critically we are trying to keep our standards high as we continue push to improve and develop this successful model for camp. Retaining high-level staff continuing to grow our fraternity is very important to us.
Director Matt Newby was ecstatic at this latest appointment for our new Elite Week format:
"Coach Zacharias has an exceptional demeanour and is a consummate professional. Having a strong basketball heritage, he is well-respected in the Greek basketball fraternity and is an exceptional teacher of the game. His experience across both the Men's and Women's game, gives him the opportunity to contribute significantly to our camp wholesale and we look forward to his contribution our new Elite Week camp."

“Ιt is an honour and a privilege to be part of the coaching staff for the first ever Elite Week at Red Star Basketball Camp UK. Working again with Coach Newby, who has built this camp to be a tradition, the rest of the coaching staff and all the players is something that I am really looking forward to this summer. We will all work hard in practices offering all the players the best level of work with our experience from high level basketball teams plus our advice and mentoring. Red Star Basketball Camp has a big successful tradition these past years on developing and improving players during the off season from all around the UK and Europe and this new addition with Elite Week is definitely highly anticipated from all of us players and coaching staff. I am very happy to return to Leeds and Red Star Basketball Camp and really eager to work, learn, improve and create memories with all of you!"
